The awards season is just around the corner, so rather than wait for the stuffy academies to give their ‘official’ word on the best films of 2016, the MovieMuse team have put their heads together to bring you our own best of list.

The criteria for inclusion is that the films had to be watched by at least three members of the team, so don’t expect any obscure indie or foreign language movies. But what you will find is are the 10 best blockbuster films that excited us in the last 12 months*.
