A long time classic video gamer, Gordon founded Replay Events, a company dedicated to showcasing the best retro consoles and computers of the last 40 years.

With his unhealthy love of Stallone movies and an obsessive need to watch every film ever nominated for a major award, he is aways ready with an (un?)educated opinion.

Away from MovieMuse Gordon is an avid follower of Liverpool and Huddersfield Town football clubs and lives in Halifax with his Star Wars loving fiancée Nancy.

Gordon is responsible for the MovieMuse website and co-edits the MovieMuse podcast.

The Survivalist 2015 A gripping, raw drama that is masterfully told without explaining how it all came about. 8
Ant-Man 2015 An amazing model city scene and some great humour, but not quite the all round super film. Ant Man 2 could be great though. 6
The Warriors 1979 Great cult 70s gang thriller whose style is only let down by terrible fight choreography and a dreadfully schlock performance from Roger Hill as Cyrus. 8
Anthrapoid 2016 Proof that not all heroic true tales are exciting. Or particularly interesting. 5
The Witch 2016 Tense and just a little bit sick. Keeps you on your toes despite its heavy dialogue. 8
Army of One 2016 Deliberately stupid with a cheesy voice over, but Cage's performance and a huge amount of heart win you over. 6
Arrival 2016 Intelligent and very well made sci-fi mystery that just saves itself from the over sentimentality. 8
They Live 1988 Smart and funny political-Sci Fi-satire with a brilliant turn by Roddy Piper and THAT fight scene. 8
Arthur Christmas 2011 Run of the mill Christmas tale, but has some wonderful characters and comedy moments. 7
Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning 2012 Superb concept that fails to translate into a good movie. Hopes are high for the rumoured live action remake though. 5
Assassin's Creed 2016 The effects, acting and set pieces are all fine, but are let down horribly by a truly dreadful story that loses everything that made the games good. 5
Time After Time 1979 A superb concept (HG Wells travels through time to catch Jack the Ripper), but falls between comedy and drama when it would have been netter to pick a side. 6
Assault on Precinct 13 1976 A tense and stylish twist on the ‘storm the fort’ western. 8
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy 2011 Very stylish and an unbelievable cast, but just a smidge too thoughful and slow. 7
Assault on Precinct 13 (2005) 2005 Loses all of the tension and grit of the original to deliver a run of the mill cop thriller. 5
Attack the Block 2011 A gang of South-London teens fight back against an alien invasion. A brilliant British take on the Sci-Fi action comedy, with great effects and spot on humour. 8
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider 2001 A ludicrous script makes Lara into an 80s movie action hero, rather than making an action movie out of Lara. Female Indiana Jones this certainly isn't. 3
The Avengers 2012 The Avengers exploded onto our screens to breathe new life into the Marvel universe. And boy did we need it! 8
Traders 2015 An interesting and daring low budget thriller. With a better director, cast and budget this could be a Fight Club for the next generation. 7
Avengers: Age of Ultron 2015 Click to see our detailed review. 6
Traitor 2008 Some nice twists and an engaging cast make the film interesting and exciting (even if the ending is a tad long). 8
Basic 2003 Despite its A-list cast, the film is exactly what it says on the tin. 5
Trespass Against Us 2016 Oddly heartening tale of goodness in bad people. Fassbender is on great form. 8
The Take (Bastille Day) 2016 Enjoyable action film with one of the worst end credits songs in history. Idris, put down the mic! 6
Triple 9 2016 Starts as a 4, ends as a 3 and drops to a 2 in the middle. A good film that avoids greatness by not being able to maintain its momentum. 6
