Simon “Boggy” Burton is the elder statesman of the team. Born in the VERY LATE 60s in black and white, he remembers the world suddenly becoming colour one day in the early 70s. Simon would love to fire up the flux capacitor and nip back to the glorious, crazy, colourful clothing days of the 80s to relive the amazing fun filled days of his youth (mainly sitting at a desk loading video games from tape and then watching ET on VHS).

As a fan of your usual mainstream movie fodder (80s and 90s action films) to unusual, obscure low budget 70s tat, Boggy is more often than not found playing retro video games on myriad of different systems from days gone by.

Hailing from Sidcup in Kent (someone has to) but currently residing in Maidstone, also in Kent, he is currently giving his son Alex a decent start in life by making him watch said action films (including the obligatory Star Wars and Back To The Future trilogies) and by beating him at all sorts of Retro gaming goodness.. Well, mostly beating him.. Well, occasionally.. Well..

The Girl With All the Gifts 2016 After having read the book I was pleasantly surprised that the film stuck quite close to the story. Not amazing, but watchable, and it helped that I knew the story - it would not have been as good if I hadn't. 7
The Witch 2016 I had high hopes for this but found it lacking in suspense, horror or any decent story. Very disappointed with this arty nonsense. 4
The Colony (Colonia) 2015 A really enjoyable thriller which delves into the psyche of a controlling zealot with psychotic tendencies and the fabric of a corrupt strict dictatorship. Great performances all round and thoroughly recommended. 8
Chicken Little 2006 A likeable stock Disney moralistic all American animation, with quite good voice acting. It is inoffensive but nothing special. 6
Die Hard 1988 May be the greatest Christmas movie of all time. An amazing action filled romp from beginning to end. 9
Wreck-it Ralph 2013 A wonderful insight into the world of video games we never see, with a great story, likeable characters and nods to games of all kinds, retro and otherwise. A clever concept well executed. 8
Iron Man 2008 Great introduction to the series. Action galore, a well constructed story and great effects all add up to a Superhero powerhouse. 8
The Purge 2013 An interesting story of a dystopian USA which leads to quite a bit of suspense and gore in equal measures, with a few twists. The whole film holds together well. 7
Prometheus 2012 An interesting concept, loosely linked to the Alien storyline. Some suspense, great effects and some good performances. Not a classic but a solid effort nonetheless. 7
Iron Man 2 2010 More of the same but not quite as well done. The story is weaker and doesn't really hit any heights, but there are some good effects again. I liked it, just not as much as the first one. 6
Iron Man 3 2013 A return to some kind of form after the underwhelming second film. It is more of the same, but done well and has some spectacular effects and the story is engaging enough with a few twists to make you fully on Iron Man's side. 7
Space Jam 1997 A film it has taken me 20 years to watch, and to be honest I was underwhelmed. Technically OK for it's time, but looking dated now, I just didn't find it an engaging story and Michael Jordan was terrible in the lead role. 5
The Purge: Anarchy 2014 A worthy sequel. Taking the story outside is a good move and the suspense builds as it turn into a classic survival horror. 7
The Purge: Election Year 2016 I thought a third film might be taking this series too far but it was not bad at all. Pretty much more of the same but still with enough action and suspense along the way to keep you entertained. 7
Quadrophenia 1979 The seminal classic Mod v Rockers extravaganza. Great characters, a good story and well choreographed scenes add up to a slice of 60's life that many will remember fondly or with disdain. 8
Big Hero 6 2014 A really great animated film with a wonderful and lovable main character in Baymax. An uplifting story and great animation leaves you hoping for more. 8
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial 1982 The seminal family movie, thoroughly engaging with a great story, good effects and a weep-fest at the end. What more could you want? 8
Assault on Precinct 13 1976 A great 70's crime thriller, with suspense, good acting, and a great finish all adds up to a classic old school 'them or us' movie. 8
World War Z 2013 From the breathtaking opening scene to the great visuals and stunning set pieces, WWZ is an exhilarating movie and an interesting take on the Zombie Genre. Recommended. 8
Slap Shot 1977 A slice of 70s nostalgia and I find it a likeable, if somewhat linear experience. Paul Newman carries it but I quite enjoyed revisiting it after many decades since I last watched. 6
Avengers: Age Of Ultron 2015 A good Superhero action film. Ultron as the antagonist is an interesting concept and the story is quite gripping and as with many movies of this type, the action is fast and furious if a little samey. Still an enjoyable blast. 7
Lethal Weapon 1987 A classic buddy cop action flick, Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are both great as the the two cops thrown together to take down the bad guys, any way they can. Great action and characters make this a frenzied watch from start to finish. 8
Lethal Weapon 2 1989 The explosive follow up to Lethal Weapon, just as fast and furious and just as much fun to watch. Both Mel Gibson and Danny Glover reprise their roles as the 2 cop buddies, and again the action and excitement is layed on thick in this great sequel. 8
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 2016 A really great addition to the Star Wars film universe, great effects and story and well acted and scripted. Well worth a few hours of your time. 8
Close Encounters of the Third Kind 1977 A really intriguing film, good effects for the time and the slow build up to the final encounter is atmospheric and encapsulating. I heartily recommend this Spielberg classic. 8
