A long time classic video gamer, Gordon founded Replay Events, a company dedicated to showcasing the best retro consoles and computers of the last 40 years.

With his unhealthy love of Stallone movies and an obsessive need to watch every film ever nominated for a major award, he is aways ready with an (un?)educated opinion.

Away from MovieMuse Gordon is an avid follower of Liverpool and Huddersfield Town football clubs and lives in Halifax with his Star Wars loving fiancée Nancy.

Gordon is responsible for the MovieMuse website and co-edits the MovieMuse podcast.

Oblivion 2013 A drone repairman on a decimated future Earth starts to question what he knows about the war. Despite it being predictable, unoriginal and starring Tom Cruise, I actually really liked it! 8
Welcome to the Punch 2013 A very average cat and mouse thriller as a criminal returns to London and gives his nemesis one last chance to catch him. Am surprised Ridley Scott put his name to it. 5
Django Unchained 2012 A freed slave and a bounty hunter try to rescue a woman from a notorious plantation owner. Tarantino does his best to ruin what starts off as a good film and eventually succeeds. 5
A Good Day To Die Hard 2013 Simple, stupid, fun. The first 2 thirds are better than the last, but it is 90 mins of non-stop action and you can't ask for more than that from a Die Hard film. 7
Resident Evil: Retribution 2012 Whilst not impressed by the 3D, I did find Retribution to be an enjoyable Resi film and a whole lot better than Afterlife. 6
Wreck-it Ralph 2012 I wanted it to stay in the retro gaming for longer rather than dwelling in the made up games, but Ralph and Felix are great characters and the film is a satisfying fix for both kids and gamers. 7
The Expendables 2 2012 Even more action heroes are thrown into the mix to disguise what a bad film it is. There is some good action but the script is woeful. 5
Premium Rush 2012 An excellent chase movie where the protagonist is a bycycle messenger being pursued by a dirty cop. Some of the chase scenes are as good as in any car movie I have seen. 8
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter 2012 Look past the seemingly silly premise and you get a fully thought through concept and a very entertaining film. 8
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2011 British oldies move for a luxury life in India but get less (and more) than they bargained for. Charming, but drags on a bit. 6
Chronicle 2012 Three friends find their lives start to unravel when the stumble on a discovery that gives them superpowers. A unique take on the 'teens get super powers' film. 8
The Campaign 2012 Billionaire brothers look to manipulate the campaign for Congress for their own end . A fun and completely harmless little movie that is probably more true than any of us would like to believe. 6
Cockneys vs Zombies 2012 Big hearted but stupid bank robbers must fight fight the zombie apocalypse if they are going to save their grandad's nursing home. Sick, stupid, brilliant stuff! 8
The Sweeney 2012 A dreadful film with an awful script and very dodgy acting. Ray Winstone tried to play Regan as a grittier Gene Hunt and failed miserably. 3
Taken 2 2012 A film so bad people were anticipating the end and leaving before the credits even rolled. Makes Liam Neeson look like a much worse actor than he really is. 3
Cherry 2000 1987 A businessman hires a renegade tracker to find an exact replica of his android wife! Mad Max crossed with Blade Runner, what's not to like! 6
Tower Heist 2011 A group of hardworking men get conned so decide to rob a bank. Not clever, not funny and a cast well beyond its heyday.not a stellar cast. Not much going for it at all. 4
The Muppets 2011 Three Muppet fans must reunite the team when they learn a mogul wants to bulldoze the Muppet Theatre. Makes up for the dodgy 'In Space' and 'Wizard of Oz' films tenfold. 8
Immortal 2004 A shockingly poor film that looks and feels unfinished. It doesn't know if it wants to be a CGI film or live action. The worst possible Fifth Element clone you could imagine. 2
Jack Reacher 2012 No better than an episode of miss marple with a few extra guns and fists. I haven't read the books but can only hope they are better. 5
Gangster Squad 2013 Not quite the updated Untouchables I was hoping for. 5
The Amazing Spider-Man 2012 Another pointless retread of the Spider-Man origin. Garfield doesn't get close to Toby Maguire's portrayal of Peter or Spidey. 6
Seven Psychopaths 2012 A screenwriter gets mixed up with the criminal underworld when his friend steals a gangstar's dog. A woeful film that tries so hard to be funny that it is hard to watch. Farrell's acting is appropriately awful. 3
88 Minutes 2007 A forensic psychiatrist whose evidence put away a seril killer reeives a call to tell him he only has 88 minutes to live. Pacino is far too good to me making films this bad. 3
Wrath of the Titans 2012 Perius has been living a quiet life since defeating the Kraken, but it doesn't last as Zues is imprisoned in the Underworld. An Ok film with some good effects, but the acting is terrible. 6
