PODCAST S02E06:
Film Club #13 – Last Passenger

The MovieMuse crew like waffling on about movies almost as much as watching them, so rather than talk to the dog about the comedic overtones of Se7en or the Wellesian influence on Police Academy, we thought we would record our chats, add a few trailers and movie clips and set them free on the world like a pensioner from cocoon.

Our unlucky thirteenth film club choice fell to Mat and he chose the 2013 train based British thriller Last Passenger, starring poor man’s Gerard Butler – Dougray Scott and a barmaid from Eastenders.

FILM CLUB REVIEW

  • Mat - "An admirable example of not giving up on a project"
  • Simon - "Inaccuracies in the train stocks and a disappointing end spoiled it for me"
  • Gordon - "I may be being nice to the film, but it is definitely a 3 and a bit star film"
3.2

Summary

A retro styled low budget thriller that suffers from a slow start and anticlimactic end. But there are lots to commend the film for and it is testament to the directors determination that the film finally made it onto our screens.
